Transit Love is designed to be a storehouse of tales of love, romance, and friendship sparked by encounters on public transportation. Bus, ferry, train, donkey-cart, waiting, en route, figuring out where to go upon arrival – if the moment lead to a heartwarming connection, let us know!
We encourage inclusion of specific routes and times of day, for example “a morning rush hour #33 Milbrook bus in University City, Missouri.” This helps us (over time) figure out if certain routes are particularly fertile ground.
As the story may well be up on the web, we may work with you a little to make sure that no details that might cause anyone discomfort are included. For this reason, and to establish that the people involved are in fact real, we will only be able to include stories from people who include contact information as indicated on the submission form [yes I need to add this form].
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What if we break up after submitting our story?
A: If you would prefer to have your story removed from the site for any reason, at any time, please let us know using the contact form [yes I need to add this form]. Please note that due to basic workload issues, your request may take several days to a week to take hold. Even after being removed from the public view, your story may remain within the (not accessible to the public) Transit Love archives.
Q: How do I know you will publish my story?
A: We cannot guarantee any story will be published. We do read and consider all stories and articles. The goal is to build up an ever increasing volume of happy transit stories, however time, space, and propriety prevent us from publishing everything we receive.
Q: Can I send a photo of us?
A: That would be lovely. Include a note that you have one in the contact form and we'll contact you. If you wish to send a photograph as an e-mail attachment, send it as a Photoshop file, GIF or JPEG, high resolution if possible.
Q: I have a picture to go with my story, but it is not scanned. Can I send it to you?
A: Yes. Include a note that you have one in the contact form and we'll contact you and ask you to send it with a SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope). We will scan the photo and return it to you. Be sure to send it between cardboard so it will not be damaged.
Q: Can I submit a story by U.S. mail?
A: Yes. Write us a note in the contact form and we'll contact you with the mailing address.
Q: What does Transit Love pay for stories it publishes?
A: Transit Love is a non-profit; we do not pay for stories.
